Management of the CommonIn 1968 the Common was purchased by Surrey County Council from Lord Onslow for £1 an acre. Approximately 1400 acres are now managed by the County Council who employ a fulltime ranger complete with a distinctive Land Rover. Round Pond Woods and Chobham Place Woods are owned and managed by Surrey Heath Borough Council. The Borough have created a path through Chobham Place Woods to improve access for wheelchairs and prams. (See the section describing a walk in Chobham Place Woods). A visitors' information centre has been created at the Roundabout car park.
