Buckstone
Farm, Windlesham Road is one of the most impressive 'black and white' timber-framed houses
around Chobham. The spaces between the external frame timbers have been filled with brick
and then plastered over to retain the original impression of wattle and daub. The internal
framing retains the original infilling of lath and plaster. The house was built early in
the 17th century as a two-storey central-chimney house, facing west towards the track
leading to the Ford. In the late 17th century a parlour was enlarged and given a gabled
end which effectively turned the house round to face the Windlesham road. The east wing,
although modern, is very much in keeping with the 17th century building.
